LIMITED SUBMISSIONS OPPORTUNITIES

What are Limited Submissions?
In Limited Submission programs, sponsors impose limitations on the number of applications or proposals that a campus can submit. Often referred to as "Limiteds," these competitive opportunities necessitate institutions to internally assess and choose only the most compelling proposals or nominations for advancement.

These opportunities have and will continue to be posted on our website at research.ucr.edu/ord/limitedsubmissions<https://research.ucr.edu/ord/limitedsubmissions?utm_source=Test&utm_campaign=dbc4d5ec0e-EMAIL_CAMPAIGN_2022_04_04_06_29_COPY_01&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_e922d65c84-dbc4d5ec0e->. The page offers comprehensive information on applying for the internal competition, along with detailed criteria for proposal selection (refer to research.ucr.edu/document/ord-limited-criteria<https://research.ucr.edu/document/ord-limited-criteria?utm_source=Test&utm_campaign=dbc4d5ec0e-EMAIL_CAMPAIGN_2022_04_04_06_29_COPY_01&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_e922d65c84-dbc4d5ec0e->). These established processes have been in place for many years.

RED's team monitors recurrent solicitations and strives to list new opportunities as soon as they become available. However, given the growing number of agencies, foundations, and sponsors providing such opportunities, there are instances where we become aware of them with some delay. These opportunities may be discovered or brought to our attention after the initial request for proposals, resulting in internal announcements with short notice. This time constraint can make it challenging to meet application deadlines for these highly competitive awards.

We've received feedback from some faculty members expressing that they were unaware of certain solicitations being posted on our website, leading to missed application deadlines. Ideally, each unit would have analysts regularly checking the website for updates and communicating them to their respective PIs. However, we acknowledge the staffing constraints and the workload challenges everyone is facing. While some PIs have suggested sending mass emails for each new opportunity, we recognize that this approach may inundate most faculty members with irrelevant information.

As a compromise, we will begin sharing these opportunities through one broad monthly email. Additionally, we will continue to feature them in our Research and Economic Development Newsletter.

Please note that, unfortunately, there is no option to unsubscribe from the new monthly communication. We appreciate your understanding as we strive to accommodate requests from a number of colleagues seeking this information. We encourage all of you to take a moment to review the list of current opportunities below and see if any align with your research and scholarly interests.

Thank you.
