Dear Faculty,

I am writing once again regarding the Early Career Award Program for
Assistant Professors. Please refer to my initial email sent on October 1,
which you can also find on the APO website here
<https://academicpersonnel.ucr.edu/sites/default/files/2025-10/ucop_ecfrea_vpap_email_10.7.25.pdf>.
That message introduced the program and outlined the required components of
an application, which are not particularly extensive.

As a reminder, the application deadline is November 1, 2025. If you plan to
apply, I hope you have been making progress with preparing your materials.
A question from our campus subsequently arose as to if the application
could come from more than one PI. I will share here that the answer to
that is no. UCOP guidelines are that applications are required to be
single-PI proposals from Senate faculty holding the rank of Assistant
Professor, Assistant Professor of Teaching, or Assistant Professor
In-Residence.

In today’s message I want to share information about the submission process
for applications. We will be using a third-party proposal system offered
by UCOP called Proposal Central, which you can access here
<https://proposalcentral.com/ProposalGI.asp?SectionID=13677&ProposalID=-1>.
If you do not already have an account with Proposal Central, you will need
to create a username and password. Once logged in, you will find fields for
entering details such as the proposal title, project summary, project
description, and budget narrative. Alternatively, you will have the option
to upload PDF files rather than entering text directly into the boxes. If
your project description includes figures, tables, or mathematical
equations, it will likely be easier to prepare it as a PDF and upload it as
a file.

I recommend taking a few moments now to familiarize yourself with Proposal
Central by setting up your login credentials and reviewing the submission
prompts. UCOP has provided an FAQ link
<https://ucop.edu/faculty-affairs-academic-programs/faculty-diversity/earlyfacultycareer/index.html>
for the platform, which also includes an email address (pcsupport at altum.com)
for technical questions. Of course, you’re welcome to reach out to me first
if you have any questions about the process.

Thank you,

Dan
