[Msoadm] CSC UPDATE: UCPath Online Access for New Employees

Dear Colleagues,

We hope you are well.

We are reaching out today because the CSC is receiving an influx of support requests  from new employees who are unable to login to UCPath Online. In the majority of these cases the issue is timing and either the Employee's start date is in the future or their template has not yet been processed.

Included below are some key "timing" details about the UCR process flow for onboarding and system access. We ask that new hires are made aware of the system access turnaround times to properly set their expectations about gaining access to systems and specifically UCPath Online. Kindly communicate this to your employees as appropriate. We also ask that any onboarding checklist or communications to new hires be updated to include pertinent details about system access turnaround times.

UCR Process Flow

  *   *Employees with a future start date won't be able to access UCPath until their first day of employment.
  *   *The average timeline to gain access for Staff, Academic and Student employee's is 24 hours after UCPath processes the onboarding template, which usually takes 1-2 weeks after the hire data is entered into UCPath (Currently, UCPath has an extremely large workload and backlog over the 20 locations. This is likely due to a significant increase in fall hiring and onboarding at most locations and may affect the 1-2 week timeline.)
  *   *Cases for system access that come to the CSC will be rerouted to SSCs for follow-up
  *   Students have an additional requirement to have a matching SSN in Banner and UCPath. A missing SSN in either system will delay access until the SSN is added or there is a manual association (via a Help Desk ticket) between the Employee ID and the Student NetID. Note: Manual association is a COVID workaround!
  *   Temporary password for NetID needs to be reset within 7 days when received.
  *   Access to the UCR Learning Center (LMS) system also requires a processed Hire template that does not have a future start date. An employee can access LMS 48 hours after the official start date.

Please be aware that UCPath is working to get through all of the onboarding requests within the 1-2 weeks.
