You are invited to attend the Progressive Discipline and Documentation Workshop, which provides in-depth information, hands-on work, and opportunities to learn to assess and handle many common situations requiring corrective action. Details of this in-person event are provided below.

Progressive Discipline and Documentation Workshop
Date: Wednesday, June 25, 2025,  10:00 a.m.- 12:00 p.m.
Location: HMNSS 1500, Humanities & Social Sciences
Audience: Supervisor and Managers as defined by the Higher Education Employer-Employee Relations Act (HEERA)<https://documents.ucr.edu/HR-Resources/resources-hrtools-heera-employee-relations-code-chart.pdf> and Human Resources officers

Course Overview:
All employees are expected to meet performance standards and behave appropriately in the workplace. Corrective action is the process of communicating with an employee to improve unacceptable behavior or performance after other methods such as coaching and performance appraisal have not been successful. The course objective is to help those with supervisory responsibilities guide employees to correct performance or behavior through early identification of problems, causes, and implementation of comprehensive solutions.

Some of the topics include:

  *   Progressive Discipline Steps
  *   Just Cause - Framework for Action
  *   How to Implement Informal and Formal Corrective Actions
  *   The Performance Accountability and Success System (PASS)
  *   How to utilize the Performance Improvement Plan (PIP) to improve performance


To register for the workshop:



1. Go to UC Learning Center at www.ucrlearning.ucr.edu<http://www.ucrlearning.ucr.edu>

2. Enter your UCR NetID and password

3. Type in a key word from the course title in the search field and click Go

4. Click on the title of the class and select Register

5. Review the activity details and select Submit to complete your registration
