Dear UC Riverside colleagues,

Did you know the University of California owns an 11-story building in downtown DC that houses over 200 students, has event space, and offers guest housing? The University of California Washington Center (UCDC) is an innovative educational, living, and community space where we bring California’s diversity and priorities to the nation’s capital, create transformative experiences, and promote public service through our premier experiential learning and public engagement programs. We provide several opportunities<https://www.ucdc.edu/facultyopportunities> for UC faculty in DC. These include:

  1. Would you like to teach in Washington, DC? You can teach<https://www.ucdc.edu/facultyopportunities#TEACH> at UCDC during AY 2025/26. We invite applications from UC faculty in all fields to propose a course that engages with students’ DC experience.
  2. Would you like to share your research findings with federal lawmakers? You can apply to become a UCDC Presidential Faculty Fellow<https://www.ucdc.edu/facultyopportunities#FACULTYFELLOWS> – which will allow you to present your policy-relevant research in DC to local advocates, lawmakers, and decisionmakers.
  3. Do you have research based in DC? You can host a cluster of research interns<https://www.ucdc.edu/facultyopportunities#RESEARCH> at UCDC who can help you conduct research in DC.
  4. Would you like to host an event at the UC Washington Center? You can host a public-facing event at our building in downtown DC, either by booking event space<https://www.ucdc.edu/node/115> or through our program that provides funding<https://www.ucdc.edu/facultyopportunities#HOST> for faculty-sponsored events.
  5. Do you know undergraduate students who would benefit from studying for a term in DC? You can encourage<https://www.ucdc.edu/facultyopportunities#ENCOURAGE> your students to participate in UCDC.

Please visit our faculty opportunities webpage<https://www.ucdc.edu/facultyopportunities> for more details on these opportunities.
