As an update to my earlier communications to you regarding the University’s
cybersecurity plans and mandate, I am sharing the attached letter from UC
Vice President and Chief Information Officer Van Williams, who was asked by
then University President Drake to respond to the systemwide Senate’s letter

regarding the Academic Senate Assembly's June 12, 2025 resolution on the
use of Trellix and similar monitoring software.
