Dear Colleagues,

I would like to inform you of important proposals that are currently
under systemwide
review. Local and systemwide committees are reviewing Interim Systemwide
Guidelines on Faculty Discipline, as well as revisions to Academic
Personnel Manual (APM) Section 015 and Academic Personnel Manual (APM)
Section 016. APM 015 is the Faculty Code of Conduct section of the APM.
While APM 016 is the University Policy on Faculty Conduct and the
Administration of Discipline.

The Interim Systemwide Guidelines on Faculty Discipline - which are being
implemented as interim systemwide guidelines at the beginning of the Fall
2025 term - are also a part of this systemwide review: (A) Faculty
Respondent Disciplinary Sanction Guidelines for Misconduct Related to
Expressive Activity; (B) Companion Document – Faculty Disciplinary
Sanctions Guidelines re Expressive Activity; (C) Non-Senate Academic
Appointee Respondent Corrective Action/Disciplinary Sanction Guidelines for
Misconduct Related to Expressive Activity and; (D) Guidelines on Good Cause
Factors re Extensions of Time. Following systemwide review, these four will
be reissued as systemwide guidelines.

All of these materials and a memo with background information are at this

As is normal practice, local and systemwide committees will review and
provide comments on these matters. After your review, you may provide your
own comments directly to UCOP via SystemwideAP-PolicyReviewComments at ucop.edu
