*NOTICE OF ELECTION AND CALL FOR NOMINATIONS*

*2026-2027*



March 9, 2026



In accordance with the Bylaws of the Riverside Division of the Academic
Senate, nominations are requested for the following positions:



*Chair of the Division: 2-year term beginning September 1, 2026*

*Kenneth Barish’s term to expire in 2026.*



*Vice Chair of the Division: 1-year term beginning September 1, 2026*

*Jonathan Eacott’s term to expire in 2026.*



*Representative to the Assembly: 2-year term beginning September 1, 2026*

*Manuela Martins-Green’s term to expire in 2026.*



*Committee on Committees: 3-year terms beginning September 1, 2026*

*Committee meets Thursdays 2-3:30pm.*



·      Two representatives from the College of Humanities, Arts, and Social
Sciences

*John M. Fischer and Traise Yamamoto’s terms are to expire in 2026. Elected
representatives cannot be from History or Dance.*



·      One representative from the College of Natural and Agricultural
Sciences

*Francesca Mia Hopkin’s term is to expire in 2026. Elected representatives
cannot be from Molecular Cell & Systems Biology, Physics & Astronomy, or
Botany & Plant Sciences. *



·      One representative from the School of Business or the School of
Education

*Ashutosh Prasad’s term to expire in 2026.*



Nominations can be made electronically on the Senate website at:



https://senate.ucr.edu/rsenate/elections



Please note that you must log in using your UCR NetID in order to place a
nomination.



To be considered for nomination, each candidate must receive at least *five*
nominations from eligible Senate members.  *Submitting a name indicates
that this person has been contacted and has agreed to serve if elected.
Proposed nominees will receive email notification to accept or decline the
nomination.*





The deadline for nominations is *5:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 19, 2026*.
Candidates who receive less than five nominations will not be considered.
Following confirmation of the nominees, an electronic ballot will be
created, if necessary, with voting due by *Friday, April 10, 2025.*
