Dear Colleagues,

Applications are now being accepted from Senate faculty at the rank of Full
Professor or Full Professor of Teaching for the position of Special Advisor
to the Provost on Sustainability. The purpose of this appointment is to
lead academic sustainability efforts and initiatives at UCR as the faculty
chair of the Sustainability Committee. Specific goals include leading UCR’s
effort to achieve an AASHE STARS platinum rating by 2030; tracking
sustainability programs, courses, and learning outcomes; growing and
improving teaching about sustainability across disciplines by strengthening
UCR's living labs programming; and championing the implementation of a
cross-college minor in sustainability.

The successful candidate will receive buyout funding for 25% of their
annual professorial academic year salary plus an annual stipend. The
appointment is for two years and is renewable.

Candidates should submit a 1-2 page letter of interest and their full CV to
provost at ucr.edu by Monday, May 25. I will consult with the college/school
deans and the Sustainability Committee in making the selection. The
appointment will begin on July 1.

Sincerely,

Liz
