Dear Highlander,
Starting on June 30, 2023, Duo, the service used by UC Riverside for
multi-factor authentication (MFA) and single sign-on (SSO), will no longer
support older and less secure types of encryption which may compromise data
security.
The impacted Transport Layer Security (TLS) versions are as follows:
-
TLS 1.0
-
TLS 1.1
These encryption levels are found in older versions of web browsers. Any
older browsers in use will have to be updated to the latest version to
ensure that it is supported by Duo.
If you are using an outdated browser, you will not be able to log in to
applications that require authentication via Duo until you update your web
browser to the latest version. More importantly, regularly updating your
web browser helps safeguard your data and communications over the internet.
