*From the Office of the ASUCR President: *
*Associate Justice Applications *
Highlanders! Are you a pre-law or public policy student interested in
exercising judicial review in our student government? You can apply to
become an Associate Justice!
As an Associate Justice, you will learn about all bylaws affecting the
function of our student government's legislative and executive branches,
and uphold these bylaws in judicial cases regarding the internal conflicts
between offices. This is a great experience for students interested in the
legal field, but it is *open to undergraduate students of all majors who
are fascinated with how government works at a university level*, and would
like to uphold fair and unbiased interpretations of our bylaws.
You can apply to be an Associate Justice using this link
<https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfdRSQpZao_vgqAZ3qQRadn8X2cL_A7hNCty8FVz0MtT7YWLg/viewform?usp=sharing&ouid=109404841508467693437>
.
Following your application submission, you will be invited to interview
with executive cabinet members and then be ratified by the senate.
If you have any questions about what the Judicial Branch entails, please
email: jnguy899 at ucr.edu
If you have any questions about the application itself, please email:
lhaid003 at ucr.edu
Thank you, and we look forward to seeing you apply!"

*Student Government Internship and Fellowship Opportunities: *
Hello and welcome to all the new Highlanders here at UCR! ASUCR, UCR's very
own student government, has *internship and fellowship opportunities
*designated
for both incoming students and students who want to get involved with
student government, but want a place to start!
Under the Executive Branch is the Executive Fellows Program
<https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdeAPSlkSkB2DPNy9tIGLvLV1Zf_PYi12VlQuTnJ6Bkdiq-kg/viewform>
(which
is *for first-years only)*, in which you would have the opportunity to
shadow and work under an elected Executive or Director. Our Executive
Branch consists of the Office of the President, Vice President, VP of
Internal Affairs, VP of External Affairs, VP of Sustainability, VP of DEI,
VP of Marketing and Promotions, and VP of Finance. Additionally, our
Directors oversee committees dedicated to First-Time College Students,
International Students, Non-Traditional Students, and Transfer Students, as
well as our Elections Committee.
Under the Senate Internship Program
<https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSeeTlm8ss0-s3Cdq5EFQ734kaD66E0KmujKvZYjTf4iZ4AuNw/viewform>,
you would have the opportunity to be part of a cohort of interns in your
college working under your college's respective senators. For example, a
CNAS senate intern would be able to shadow and participate in
initiatives and projects alongside the 5 CNAS senators. Our 19 ASUCR
Senators represent every CHASS, CNAS, BCOE, SOE, SOB, and SPP.
Under the Judicial Fellowship Program
<https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfbA9sMQ6o4xTpx98ZdOUNXwGt_FyHU501zJYJuj0tc_pb_JA/viewform>,
a similar model to the Senate Internship Program is in place in which you
would be part of a cohort of interns that shadow and participate in
initiatives and projects alongside our Associate Justices and under the
Chief Justice.
More information about these programs can be found on the respective
application descriptions or the official ASUCR Instagram page, @asucr.
