Dear Highlander,

Information Technology Solutions (ITS) has been hard at work upgrading the
campus virtual private network (VPN)
<https://insideucr.ucr.edu/scotmemos/2025/09/04/coming-soon-new-virtual-private-network-vpn-service>
from the old Palo Alto (GlobalProtect) to the new Cisco Secure
(AnyConnect). The new VPN is now available for download from vpn.ucr.edu (see
guidance
<https://ucrsupport.service-now.com/ucr_portal?id=kb_article_view&sysparm_article=KB0011142>
).
Linux, Android, Chromebook, and iOS Users

As a result of this transition, Highlanders who use VPN with devices that
have Linux, Chrome, Android, or iOS operating systems (i.e., Linux
machines, Chromebooks, phones, or tablets) will be required to use the new
VPN as of Monday, October 27, 2025. If this applies to you, please find
