[Students] Campus Impact - Block Party 09.26.26

Hello Highlanders,

On *Saturday, September 26*, the Associated Students Program Board (ASPB)
will host UCR’s annual Welcome Back Concert, *Block Party 2026*. We want to
make the campus community aware of potential amplified sound, temporary
access restrictions, and other impacts to the inner campus associated with
the event.

The amplified sound exemption has been approved for *8:00 AM–10:00 PM on
Saturday, September 26*. Block Party will take place from *4:00 PM–9:00 PM*
. During this timeframe, the campus community may experience increased
noise levels throughout campus and surrounding areas

Campus impacts will begin earlier in the week, with vendor load-in and
stage installation beginning Wednesday, September 23, followed by fencing
installation beginning Friday, September 25. Fencing installation will
impact the areas surrounding inner campus; however, access to *building
entrances and exits will remain unaffected from 12:00 PM-11PM on Saturday,
September 26.*

Beginning at* 12:00 PM on Saturday, September 26,* portions of the *Bell
Tower, HUB, Pierce Lawn, and Rivera Lawn* areas will be fenced off and
secured for the event, and access through portions of the *inner campus
will be restricted*. Some building entrances and exits within the event
footprint will also be temporarily closed or restricted after 12:00 PM.
Signage will be posted on affected doors directing students, faculty, and
staff to entrances and exits that will remain operational.

Students, faculty, and staff traveling through the inner campus will need
to use alternate walking routes, which will be clearly identified with
signage. A map of the affected areas and alternate routes is included for
reference.

Parking lots and vehicle access in and around campus may also be impacted
on Saturday, September 26.

ASPB has also extended the opportunity for currently enrolled UCR graduate
students, eligible UCR Extension students, and eligible RCCD students *(living
in UCR housing)* to attend Block Party 2026. For full event details,
