<p class="MsoNormal" style="background:white"><span style="font-size:12.0pt">I’m writing to inform you that that the University of California (UC) was subject to a cybersecurity attack that involved the Accellion file transfer appliance (FTA). In particular,
the data provided by students in the 2020 California Undergraduate Experience Survey (UCUES). Unfortunately, student responses to the UCUES survey were stored on the Accellion FTA at the time of the event and subsequently posted to the internet. This incident
is not only a violation of privacy, but an unforeseen predicament for all those involved.
