Dear Campus Community,

California Department Public Health (CDPH) and Cal/OSHA recently issued updated COVID-19 prevention training requirements. Please review below what action must be taken by each employee to satisfy this requirement. If you are currently working on campus, even on an intermittent basis, immediate action is required.

If you previously completed the COVID-19 Prevention Training released last spring:
Employees will receive an automatic assignment notification from the UC Learning Center to complete the 8-minute supplemental course. This brief bridge course summarizes the key updates that meet the new state requirements and UC policy.

Training for employees and departments where access to computers or mobile devices is not feasible will be provided separately.

We ask that this assignment be satisfied within 2 weeks of this notification, to comply with the new state directive.

If you have not completed the original COVID-19 Prevention Training but have returned to campus:
Employees who have returned to campus, even on an intermittent basis, must complete the COVID-19 Prevention course as previously assigned. The course has been updated to address the new state requirements. Employees will not need to complete the additional supplemental course.

We ask that this assignment be satisfied within 2 weeks of this notification, to comply with the new state directive.

If you do not plan to return to campus in the near future/ continue to work remote:
Employees who continue to exclusively work remotely do not need to complete the training assignment until they have been approved by their supervisor to return to work on campus. Upon approval to return, employees must complete the COVID-19 prevention training as previously assigned in the UC Learning Center. Employees will not need to complete the additional supplemental course.

All employees will receive an email notification providing instructions on how to access the course through the UC Learning Center. Supervisors will receive emails of expired training assignments and are expected to ensure their employees have met the training requirement.
