[Ucrfacultyandstaff] Facilities Services Campus Power Notification

[Facilities]

Dear Campus Community,

This morning, Tuesday January 5th, the Central Plant experienced a power outage impacting portions of the campus. Although some power has been restored, a significant transformer supporting areas on campus remains out of service. The following buildings do not have power at this time:


*        Batchelor Hall

*        Botanic Gardens

*        Boyden Lab

*        College Building North

*        Fawcett Laboratory

*        Facilities Services Annex A and B

*        Greenhouses 1-3, and 18-21

*        Keen Hall

*        Life Sciences Building

*        Spieth Hall, Herbarium and Vivarium

*        Stored Products Insecticide (SPI) Building

*        University Office Building

We are working with a third-party vendor to secure a large generator to power the impacted transformer. We anticipate the generator to be on site later tonight with the goal of restoring power to buildings as soon as possible.

Facilities Services staff will remain on location and will continue to provide the campus with significant updates to power restoration.
