Campus COVID-19 workplace update
Under the latest state guidelines, most vaccinated employees and students may work indoors without face coverings, physical distancing is no longer required, and all worksites can operate at 100% capacity.

For the second straight year, Environmental Health & Safety has been awarded the UC Presidential Award for Campus Excellence in Safety and Health for a low case incident rate.

Computer science professor wins Distinguished Teaching Award
Vagelis Papalexakis, an assistant professor of computer science, has been awarded the Marlan and Rosemary Bourns College of Engineering's Distinguished Teaching Award.

Physics student receives NASA fellowship
Ming-Feng Ho, a doctoral student in physics and astronomy, has received a three-year fellowship from Future Investigators in NASA Earth and Space Science and Technology.

Juneteenth made a UC holiday
UC President Michael V. Drake announced Juneteenth has been added to the university's calendar of holidays. This year, it will be observed Monday, June 28, and on the federal date in following years.

Campus vaccination rates update
More than a third of employees and students have submitted proof of vaccination records. Among employees, about 39% have submitted proof; for students the rate is almost 35% as of this week.
