Proposed state budget increases UC funding by 5%
Gov. Gavin Newsom has proposed a state budget plan to increase UC funding 5% each year over five years. UC President Michael V. Drake praised the plan, which calls for expanding university access and affordability.

Mechanical engineering professor earns NSF CAREER award
Bhargav Rallabandi, an assistant professor of mechanical engineering, has received a $540,000 National Science Foundation CAREER award to study microparticles in liquid.
