[Ucrfacultyandstaff] Power Flex Alert Today

Dear UCR Campus Community,



A continued Flex Alert has been called for today, Wednesday, September 7, with the most critical hours being between 4:00 - 9:00 p.m., by the California Independent System Operator, CAISO, and Riverside Public Utilities, RPU, to lower energy usage



Please consider turning off lights, unplugging unused appliances and equipment, closing blinds to deflect the sun, setting thermostats to no lower than 78 degrees, not operating energy-intensive equipment, and closing doors to keep in air conditioning, especially when you leave for the evening.



Your continued assistance in reducing energy usage is greatly appreciated.
