Dear Colleagues,
I am deeply saddened to inform the campus community of the May 21 death of
Jeffrey Davis, who worked as a standardized patient (SP) in the Center for
Simulated Patient Care in the School of Medicine.
Jeff began working as an SP on August 1, 2023. He is remembered by his
colleagues at the Center for Simulated Patient Care as affable and
friendly. He often shared stories from his life and was deeply curious
about the people he worked with.
Jeff also worked as an SP at California University of Science and Medicine
in Colton and Keck Graduate Institute (KGI) in La Verne. Prior to becoming
a standardized patient, Jeff worked for more than 20 years in the
healthcare industry, primarily at Baxter Healthcare and Kaiser Permanente.
In his free time Jeff enjoyed flying his Cessna 172 out of Cable Airport in
Upland and spending time with family on his boat.
Jeff is survived by his wife Charlene; his sons Brandon, Patrick, Zachary,
and Matthew; his daughters Shelley and Danielle; and four grandchildren.
A memorial will be held July 10 at 2 p.m. at Hillside Community Church,
5354 Haven Ave., Rancho Cucamonga, followed by a gathering at the Davis
family’s hangar at Cable Airport.
Please keep Jeff’s family, friends, and colleagues in the School of
Medicine in your thoughts during this painful time.
Sincerely,
Liz
