<span style="font-family:"Tahoma",sans-serif">Dear Campus Community,

<span style="font-family:"Tahoma",sans-serif">As we near the end of another academic year, it is important to recognize the critical contributions our employees make to the overall success of UC Riverside in our academic, research, and service mission. While
we do not have the highest level of staffing in the UC system, I don’t believe any staff in the system can exceed the dedication and commitment exhibited each day by UCR staff. My continued thanks for your unmatched levels of service and contributions to the
campus.

<span style="font-family:"Tahoma",sans-serif">I am pleased to announce a 4.5% salary increase for all policy-covered staff and 4% for academic employees for the 2022-2023 fiscal year, subject to eligibility requirements (available

here). In President Drake’s message to the Chancellors, he noted that the UC salary adjustment program is contingent upon a 5 percent allocation increase from the state for the FY23 budget; and he expressed confidence that the increase would be approved
during this legislative session.

<span style="font-family:"Tahoma",sans-serif">This year’s salary adjustment will not be a “merit” allocation. Performance is a consideration related to eligibility for the salary increase, and the university continues to place a high value on the importance
of the performance management process. This is the second consecutive year that a general increase for staff has been implemented for all employees who meet the eligibility criteria.

<span style="font-family:"Tahoma",sans-serif">For eligible policy-covered staff, the 4.5% increase to their base salary will be effective July 1. The adjustment to the academic salary scales will be effective October 1 for policy-covered faculty, and July
1 for other policy-covered academic appointees. Additionally, the Provost will initiate a Special Salary Equity Program for policy-covered faculty that will address the continuing gap in competitiveness with peer institutions and address equity issues. Finally,
please note that union-represented staff and academic employees are not included in this program, as their wages are governed by collective-bargaining agreements.

<span style="font-family:"Tahoma",sans-serif">Thank you again for your continued support of UCR and your daily dedication to serving our students, faculty, and employees.
