*This week in ASUCR....*

*Wednesday, 10/28 Pizza and Prop 50, 12:00-1:30pm, HUB 268*
The purpose is for students to meet UCR's direct state senator and present
her with issues that students care about that impact them the most. This is
also a chance for the Senator to speak about constituent services, and how
students can be more civically engaged and involved in politics.

*Wednesday, 10/28 Sip, Snack, & Sign Up CalFresh Enrollment Party

Hey highlanders, come join our CalFresh interns as they help you apply for
CalFresh! CalFresh provides qualifying students with up to $292 a month to
buy healthy nutritious foods. It’s a federally mandated, state-supervised,
and county-operated government entitlement program that provides monthly
food benefits to qualified Highlanders. These benefits can be used at
various local grocery and convenience stores, most farmers markets,
Scotty's convenience store located at the Highlander Union Building (HUB),
and Market at Glen Mor.

The Students of Color Conference (SOCC) is a transformative annual event
for UC students to explore issues impacting communities of color.

📍Location: UC Santa Barbara

🗓️Dates: January 23-25, 2026

The Student of Color Conference (SOCC) is the largest and oldest
student-led conference in the University of California system. It provides
a transformative space for students of diverse backgrounds to come
together, share their stories, and advocate for equity and justice. Through
workshops, keynote speakers, and community-building activities, SOCC
empowers students to discuss critical issues impacting communities of color
and take action. Join the ASUCR External Affairs Office in an
ALL-EXPENSES-PAID TRIP to UC Santa Barbara!!
