ASUCR Student Leader Positions Available!

ASUCR student leader positions are held by elected and appointed
undergraduate students who govern and advocate on behalf of the UC
Riverside undergraduate student body. These positions span eight offices,
the Office of the President, Executive Vice President, External Affairs,
Internal Affairs, Diversity Equity and Inclusion, Finance, Marketing and
Promotions, and Sustainability. Each office is led by an elected Vice
President or the President, who appoints a team of directors,
commissioners, coordinators, and fellows to carry out the office's work.
Student leaders serve one academic year. Whether you're interested in
legislative advocacy, campus safety, basic needs, financial oversight,
communications, or environmental policy, there is a role within ASUCR
designed to connect your passion to real impact for the more than 20,000
undergraduates at UC Riverside.

The Office of the President serves as the executive hub of the Associated
Students of UC Riverside, supporting the ASUCR President in carrying out
the strategic, operational, and community-facing priorities of student
government. The office is staffed by a team of appointed student leaders
who collectively manage the President's schedule and correspondence,
maintain executive records, oversee the Executive Fellowship Program,
coordinate with various student communities and the student athlete
community, and ensure accountability across ASUCR's committee structure.

The Office of the Executive Vice President (EVP) serves as the lead of the
ASUCR Legislative Branch, ensuring that the Student Senate functions with
clarity, efficiency, and accountability. Supporting the EVP is a staff
team, the Head of Staff, Senate Secretary, Parliamentarian, and Senate
Internship Director, each playing a distinct role in keeping Senate
operations running smoothly, from maintaining accurate meeting records and
upholding parliamentary procedure to developing the next generation of
student leaders through the Senate Internship Program.

The ASUCR Office of the Vice President of External Affairs is UCR
undergraduates’ hub for off-campus advocacy, civic power-building, and
student–worker solidarity. The office represents students systemwide
through UCSA and drives federal, state, and local government relations,
media outreach, and coalition work. Its four teams, the Legislative
Advocacy Committee, Highlander Action Committee, Civic Engagement
Committee, and Highlander Labor Committee, plan lobby trips and policy
positions, organize actions and trainings, register and mobilize voters,
and partner with unions and community allies. This area turns student
priorities into coordinated campaigns, policy wins, and lasting
partnerships that elevate UCR student voices across Riverside, California,
and the UC system.

The Office of the Vice President of Finance serves as the fiscal steward of
the Associated Students of UC Riverside, responsible for the oversight,
allocation, and accountability of ASUCR's financial resources. Led by the
elected Vice President of Finance, the office administers the annual budget
hearing process, manages organization funding allocations, and ensures all
financial operations are conducted with transparency, integrity, and
alignment with ASUCR's governing documents. The team comprises of the Vice
Chair, Secretary, Event Coordinator and Student Life Liaison that supports
the VPF in executing the office's mission while also advancing financial
literacy and equitable access to funding opportunities across the UCR
student community.

The Office of the Vice President of Marketing and Promotions serves as the
creative and communications engine of ASUCR, responsible for building and
maintaining the organization's public presence, brand identity, and student
engagement across all platforms and events. Through its team of Marketing
Specialists, Photographers, a Historian, and a Student Experience Director,
the office also executes ASUCR's signature student-facing events, Welcome
Week, R'Gear, and the Senior BBQ/R'Wrapped celebration, while preserving an
institutional record of the organization's work and achievements for future
leadership.

The Office of the Vice President of Campus Internal Affairs serves as
ASUCR's primary advocate for the on-campus student experience, focusing on
academic equity, and student wellness. Through its Academic Affairs and
Student Wellness committees, the office builds collaborative relationships
with campus departments, the Academic Senate, and basic needs partners to
ensure that every student has equitable access to the academic resources
and wellness support they need to persist and thrive at UC Riverside.

and inclusive campus climate work at UC Riverside. Through its team of
appointed liaisons and directors, the office amplifies the voices of
diverse student communities, while also co-chairing the Diversity Council
and overseeing the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee. Rooted in
UCR's Principles of Community, the office is committed to building a campus
where every student has equitable access to the resources, representation,
and support they need to thrive.

The Green Campus Action Plan (GCAP) aims to provide undergraduate students
with the financial resources to pursue sustainability-based projects on the
University of California, Riverside campus. By taking ownership of our
impact on the planet and our community, we can begin to tackle climate and
sustainability issues at a college level and apply those lessons throughout
our future careers. The committee operates within the ASUCR Vice President
of Sustainability's Office.

Hi Highlanders,

My name is Joseph Anastacio, and I serve as the incoming Vice President of
External Affairs for ASUCR for the 2026–2027 academic year. I'm writing to
invite you to apply to represent UCR at the UCSA Student Organizing Summit
<https://ucsa.org/get-involved/> (SOS) 2026.

What is SOS 2026?

SOS brings together students from all 9 UC campuses to learn methods of
advocacy, campaign tactics, and organizing strategy from expert presenters.
Students will also be able to participate in a democratic process that
selects UCSA's annual statewide campaign focus. Delegates will have access
to a range of personal and professional development opportunities through
workshops, keynotes, and networking with students and advocacy
practitioners from across the UC system.
