ASUCR Welcome <https://events.ucr.edu/event/asucr-welcome>: Tuesday,

The purpose of the ASUCR Welcome Week event is to welcome new students,
especially freshmen and transfer students, and help them feel more
connected to UCR. The event gives students a chance to learn more about
ASUCR and what each VP does, while also creating a fun environment where
they can meet other students, build connections, and feel more comfortable
being part of the UCR community.

Join the Office of External Affairs!

The ASUCR Office of External Affairs is hiring committee staff for the
2026-2027 year, and we want you on the team.

Our office organizes students around the issues that shape life at UCR and
across the UC: lobbying legislators in Sacramento and D.C., getting
Highlanders to the polls, standing with campus workers, and holding
administration accountable. You can get involved through one of our four
committees:

Legislative Affairs Committee (LAC): Track bills, meet with lawmakers, and
bring student voices into state and federal policy.

Highlander Action Committee (HAC): Plan and run campus-wide campaigns built
around student needs.

Civic Engagement Committee (CEC): Register voters, run turnout efforts, and
help build a culture of civic participation at UCR.

Highlander Labor Committee (HLC): Work alongside campus unions to educate
student workers and build solidarity.

No experience needed, just a willingness to show up and organize. Whether
you’re a policy nerd, an organizer, a designer, or just tired of decisions
being made without students in the room, there’s a place for you here.

Apply by October 21st at 11:59pm at linktr.ee/asucrexternal. Questions?

ASUCR's Senate acts as the main decision-making body of student government,
representing the voices of undergraduates across campus. It’s made up of
elected senators from each college, along with executive officers who help
organize and support student-led efforts. The Senate meets every week to
review and vote on legislation, distribute funding to student
organizations, and talk through issues that impact the wider campus
community. Meetings are led by the Executive Vice President and follow a
structured format to keep things fair, open, and inclusive. Overall, the
Senate plays a vital role in making sure student voices are heard and in
improving student life at UCR.
