Dear UCR Faculty,
Each year UC Riverside School of Medicine conducts interviews for the medical program. Candidates participate in Multiple-Mini Interviews (MMI), rotating through a circuit of 8 different staff, faculty and/or community interviewers, answering a variety of ethical, social, cultural, and clinical-based questions. Each interviewer is required to score candidates on the basis of their answers to the questions. The interviewer's scores are then reviewed by the UCR SOM Admissions Committee for final scoring and selection for the incoming medical student cohort.
All UCR faculty members are invited to participate in this year's MMIs. All interviews will be held online via Zoom during this admissions cycle from September 2022 through March 2023 on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays with time commitments of 3 hours per session. We ask that you are able to participate in at least 4 interview sessions. Please sign up by completing the new interviewer survey link below no later than Wednesday, July 20th, 5:00pm. **Note: Interview slots are limited.

For those of you who plan to interview, I will provide you with information on the mandatory interviewer training sessions taking place at 6pm on Thursday, August 4th, 2022 and 6pm on Tuesday, August 16th, 2022 after the survey is completed (You are only required to attend one training day). Another email will follow in the month of August with the exact MMI dates and times, and how you can sign up to interview.
How interviews work: Interviews will take place in the Zoom breakout rooms. During the interview, you and one candidate will enter the breakout room where you, the interviewer, will share one pre-recorded question to be answered by the candidate. At this period you will evaluate the candidate based on their response to the question. You will continue this process until every candidate has been interviewed. Additional information will be provided after training and interview sign ups.
If you have questions, please contact me, Aaren Hurd, at Aaren.Hurd at medsch.ucr.edu<mailto:Aaren.Hurd at medsch.ucr.edu>.
