Re:       Recognition of New Bargaining Unit - Student Services Advising Professionals
Dear Colleagues:
The International Union, United Automobile, Aerospace and Agricultural Implement Workers of America (UAW) filed a request with the State of California Public Employment Relations Board (PERB) to be recognized as the exclusive representative of UC Student Services Advising Professionals (SSAP) regarding their terms and conditions of employment. On April 18, 2025, the University voluntarily recognized the UAW as the exclusive representative of the new SSAP bargaining unit.
Bargaining for an initial contract will commence in the coming months. Further information related to terms and conditions of employment will be provided in the near future. In the meantime, please review the attached status quo document and guidance.
Please forward this email to supervisors who employ individuals in the SSAP unit as well as to staff personnel who administer employment matters for them.
