Dear UCR Faculty Member,

To ensure academic continuity and to streamline course management, The
Office of the Registrar and Information Technology Solutions are performing
an update to Banner beginning at 7:00 PM tonight, March 9, 2026. This
update will impact your Canvas courses and iGrade dashboard view.
What to Expect

We will sync updated information for secondary activities (such as
discussion sections, labs, etc.). Once completed, you will begin to see
these sections in Canvas, specifically in your Dashboard and in the All
Courses menu.

You may see additional course sections on your Canvas Dashboard if your
courses have discussion or lab sections. The Canvas Dashboard displays up
to 20 courses. All of your courses in Canvas can be accessed by going to
“Courses” in the global navigation, then selecting “All Courses.”

This change will also impact your dashboard view in iGrade, as you will now
have access to all the discussion sections. However, you can filter your
view using the “Section” drop-down in the iGrade dashboard, located to the
right of the ”Term” drop-down, to only see gradable sections.
Resources for Managing Your Sections

We understand that managing multiple subsections requires a bit of
navigation. To help you organize your Canvas Dashboard and filter the
Gradebook by section, you may refer to the knowledge articles below.
