[Senate] Instructional Updates - May 7, 2024

Dear Colleagues,

As you may be aware from the correspondence from your respective deans, the Administration referred to faculty discretion regarding a temporary pivot to remote instruction via Zoom in response to the serious incident that occurred on Sunday.

While there does not seem to be any threat to the campus community from the said incident at this point, I write to affirm the Academic Senate's concurrence with such pivots as course and curricular matters are at the center of the faculty Senate's purview. As always, please note that proper notice to students and teaching staff is necessary to ensure effective delivery of instruction.

Senate leadership is staying abreast of campus updates and has regular and impromptu meetings with Administrative partners.
