The Students of Color Conference (SOCC) is a transformative annual event
for UC students to explore issues impacting communities of color.

The Student of Color Conference (SOCC) is the largest and oldest
student-led conference in the University of California system. It provides
a transformative space for students of diverse backgrounds to come
together, share their stories, and advocate for equity and justice. Through
workshops, keynote speakers, and community-building activities, SOCC
empowers students to discuss critical issues impacting communities of color

*UCSA Policy Fellows: *
Hi Highlanders,
Are you passionate about advocacy, public policy, or making a difference
for UC students? Applications are now open for the 2025–2026 UCSA Policy
Fellowship, a year-long leadership program that gives undergraduates the
tools to shape real policy at the state and federal level.
As a UCSA Policy Fellow, you’ll:
- Research and draft student-centered legislation based on campus
experiences!
- Receive mentorship and training from student leaders and policy experts!
- Represent UC students in Sacramento and other advocacy spaces!
- Earn a stipend for your participation!

Hello Highlanders!
I hope your first week of school was amazing. The ASUCR office of Campus
Internal Affairs is looking for committee members! There are three
committees that have applications open for this school year. The open
committee descriptions are posted below along with their application. We
would love for you to apply and help contribute to making meaningful change
on campus!
*Basic Needs Committee: *
The Basic Needs Committee responsible for communicating, strategizing and
developing ideas, projects and initiatives to support campus basic needs
efforts. This includes coordinating collaborations between campus entities
involved with basic needs efforts, hosting events pertaining to basic needs
affairs, working on advocacy and legislation to support basic needs efforts
on campus, et cetera. The Basic Needs Committee oversees projects such as
Swipe Out Hunger, Scotty Eats, and collaborations with the Basic Needs

*Academic Affairs Committee:*
The Academic Affairs Committee assists with the facilitation of the
Associated Students year-round testing material initiative and keeps an
inventory of all testing materials. This committee shall execute the
quarterly Midterm Test Material Wagon and Finals Snack Wagon initiatives in
coordination with the UCR Libraries, as well as work on initiatives to
improve Academic life throughout the UCR campus. Apply here!

*Sexual Assault and Violence Prevention Committee:*
The Sexual Assault and Violence Prevention Committee is committed to
promoting efforts aimed at preventing sexual assault and violence on
campus. This committee plays a vital role in developing strategies,
projects, and initiatives to support these prevention efforts.
Responsibilities include coordinating collaborations between campus
entities, organizing events, and advocating for policies and legislation to
make our campus safer. Apply here
