ASUCR Newsletter - Fall Quarter Week 0

Welcome!

Welcome to the Associated Students of UCR (ASUCR), your student government
in charge of representing the interests and needs of 22,000+ of UCR's
undergraduates. Through the work of our student-elected officials, office
staff, and our hardworking committees, we advocate for students. ASUCR is
focused on community-based services, programs, and events that engage and
encourage students to unlock their full potential at their time here and
beyond UCR. Throughout the year, our weekly newsletters will share
information to the undergraduate students on upcoming events and
initiatives planned and organized by your elected student leaders and their
various teams.

Our weekly newsletters will also include information on our weekly ASUCR
Senate meetings. ASUCR's Senate acts as the main decision-making body of
student government, representing the voices of undergraduates across
campus. It’s made up of elected senators from each college, along with
executive officers who help organize and support student-led efforts. The
Senate meets every week on Wednesdays at 7pm (beginning week 1) in the
Senate Chambers (HUB 221) to review and vote on legislation, distribute
funding to student organizations, and talk through issues that impact the
wider campus community. Meetings are led by the Executive Vice President
and follow a structured format to keep things fair, open, and inclusive.
Overall, the Senate plays a vital role in making sure student voices are
heard and in improving student life at UCR.

>From the Office of the Vice President of Finance

Hello Highlanders!

My name is Rohan Vig, and I’m your Vice President of Finance! I am a
4th-year Environmental Sciences major with a minor in Public Policy. My
hope is to make the Office of Finance a reliable, and approachable
resource. Whether you are applying for funding for the first time, planning
an event that might need additional funding or looking into travel grants,
I hope our office can help you navigate both new and existing funding
opportunities and feel supported throughout that process.

Account Activation Process: For undergraduate student organizations seeking
funding from ASUCR, the full account activation process is available online
at: https://asucr.ucr.edu/budget/org-funding.

ASUCR Funding Training Module: We listened and overhauled what was the
previous presentation and signers test into a new training module.
Authorized Signers are required to complete the module before submitting
the Authorized Signers Form. [This only needs to be completed once per
