[Faculty] Call for faculty co-chair for the Asian American and Native American Pacific Islander-Serving Institutions (AANAPISI) committee

The UCR AANAPISI Committee is seeking its next Faculty Co-Chair to serve alongside the Staff Co-Chair.
Committee Overview
Institutions are defined as AANAPISI under the Higher Education Act (HEA) as colleges or universities with an undergraduate enrollment that is at least 10 percent Asian American and Native American Pacific Islander. Additionally, at least half of the institution’s degree-seeking students must be low-income. In 2018, UC Riverside was designated an AANAPISI institution and in July of 2018 it had its inaugural AANAPISI meeting. The Committee was revived and reconstructed in January 2023.
The purpose and charge of the Committee are as follows:

Campus Community Education Across Constituency Groups
*
Student Servingness Academic and Holistic Student Affairs
*
Governmental & Community Relations Advocacy
Co-Chair Responsibilities:
*
Advance AANAPISI Committee goals and priorities.
*
Develop agenda and co-lead monthly meetings.
*
Report to and provide updates to Vice Chancellor of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.
*
Collaborate with AAPI Faculty and Staff Network and AAPI Alumni Network to strengthen UCR AAPI community.
*
Lead various activities, events, and initiatives.
*
Create tools and/or resources as appropriate.
*
Term commitment: 2 years.
