2026 Minimum Wage Increase





Hello Campus HR Partners,



The new year is approaching, and the hourly minimum wage is changing. UCR
adheres to the state minimum wage requirements. Effective January 1, 2026,
the new minimum wage will be $16.90 per hour for all employers.  This
change affects the salary ranges for our Student Assistant classification.
Attached is the updated salary range structure for UCR classifications,
which will *take effect on December 21, 2025*.



*Organization and departments:*


   - No action is required on your part, as these increases have been
   processed centrally.
   - A separate email with post run spreadsheets will be sent to HRPBs for
   your review and possible communication with incumbents.
   - Mid/late January please audit student positions for being paid within
   the salary range to ensure no one was missed.
      - If anyone was missed, please update as appropriate through your
      local processes.
   - For any hires or rehires, please ensure that you are hiring at the
   correct rate.
