Family     Members of Victims





The California Civil Rights Department has issued a mandatory workplace
notice regarding leave and accommodations for survivors of violence and
family members of victims, which became effective May 2025. While this was
not captured in our review last year (April 2025), it is important to post
this notice out of cycle.



*Key Information*
Under California law, employees who are survivors of domestic violence,
sexual assault, or stalking or family members of victims are entitled to:

   - Protected time off


   - Reasonable workplace accommodations to ensure safety and well-being



*Your Role as an HR Partner*

   - Ensure the Survivors of Violence and Family Members of Victims – Right
   to Leave and Accommodations notice

   is posted in a visible, common area in your organizational unit (e.g.,
   break room or main posting board) by *Friday, January 16, 2026. *


   - Maintain confidentiality and provide support if an employee requests a
   leave or accommodation under these provisions.


   - Direct employees to their department HR or Leave Coordinator for
   assistance when needed.
