The University of California is committed to the highest standards of
conduct in its education, research, public service and patient care
mission. Every employee at the University plays a role in maintaining our
ethical standards, as part of the ethics and compliance program
<https://compliance.ucr.edu/ethics-compliance-program> coordinated by
UCR's Chief
Compliance Office <https://compliance.ucr.edu/>. We count on you to speak
up if you see something wrong. And if someone reports misconduct to you--we
rely on you to pass that report on to us so that we can make sure it is
addressed appropriately. You are protected from retaliation
<https://compliance.ucr.edu/document/retaliation-faqs> for reporting, as
explained in our new retaliation poster (attached).

The University encourages you to report concerns about possible misconduct
directly to the whistleblower hotline (universityofcalifornia.edu/hotline;
(800) 403-4744) or to the Chief Compliance Officer (ldo at ucr.edu). You may
also report to your supervisor or unit head. The systemwide whistleblower
hotline is independently-operated to receive calls or web-based reporting
from faculty, staff, students or members of the public. The hotline allows
for anonymous reporting. This hotline is staffed 24/7 and is capable of
receiving reports in a number of different languages.

Discrimination and harassment based on any *Protected Category* (see below
for a list) should be reported to UCR's Office of Civil Rights through the
online reporting portal i-Sight | UC Incident Reporting Form for Harassment
and Discrimination <https://uctitleix.i-sight.com/portal/Riverside> .

The California Government Code requires every state agency, including the
University of California, to annually distribute to its employees a message
from the California State Auditor that provides an explanation of the
California Whistleblower Protection Act. *Please find the 2025 message
attached. *Please also keep an eye out for updated whistleblower posters,
which highlight other avenues for reporting improper governmental activity,
such as the California State Auditor and the California Attorney General.

Thank you for your attention, and for helping UCR do the right thing.

Kiersten Boyce, J.D.
